Punto Ciego by Mercedes Alfonsín. ENERC Library | INCAA, 2017

Punto Ciego is a book about the persistent search for a form, about the various, diverse, and sometimes implausible processes that lead to the construction of an image. It is the meticulous description of the gaze, an instinctive drive that tries to make sense of both the need for fiction and the need to breathe.
Through an intimate account of her personal and professional experience in filmmaking, Mercedes Alfonsín shows us that there is no division between practice and theory, but rather that theory is practice. In a subtle and even involuntary way, as is the possibility of completing a space not visible to the human eye, the story flows with the same laws of any good fiction.

«It is a fundamental book both for the professional, who can feel identified with that extraordinary Art director, and for the student or cinephile who wonders how decisions are made, those of the day and those of life.»
JUAN JOSÉ CAMPANELLA

«Punto ciego is a book of adventures. A travel diary in which Mercedes Alfonsín records her journey with the precision of the personal diaries of the nineteen hundreds and the temperance of romantic heroines, educated and fragile-looking women who stopped at nothing.»
