Art direction in cinema is a world without words, says Mercedes Alfonsín, and yet her book Punto Blind is a complementary exercise in personal writing and a reflection on images and language, the films she made and saw, life on the set, the place of a woman in that universe. Responsible for the art direction of films such as Luna de Avellaneda, El aura, La puta y la whale, among many others, Alfonsín studied at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts school and since the 1990s has been working on films worldwide and teaching film students.
